A standardized computer form factor, the Embedded Board eXpandable single board computer was designed to be used with the embedded computer systems created by Ampro and Motorola. These systems are typically embedded PowerPC or PowerQUICC based.
EBX system boards are specified as 8 x 5.75 inches, and they integrate a PC/104-Plus connection subset for peripheral expansion. Additionally, optional connectors for PMCIA may be used in conjunction with Embedded Board eXpandable single board computers.
EBX single board computers provide flexible functioning as well as a thin, sleek design with the capacity to support various expansion options. These SBCS support Mini PCle, PC/104-Plus, and universal extension bus modules.
