COM Express (computer-on-module)

The COM module is a complete computer built on a single circuit board. The design is centered on a single microprocessor with RAM, input/output controllers and all other features needed to be a functional computer on the one board. However, unlike a single-board computer, the COM module needs to be attached directly to the baseboard or carrier board. The baseboard has all of the I/O and expansion slots. This allows developers to design custom/application specific baseboards that will always be compatible with the latest Computer-On-Modules.
